Throughout the entire area that can be explored of Chantelise, there are only 3 major shops. The one in town, run by Aira, the man having a picnic at 'The forest of recollection', and a fisherman who appears at 'A plain' upon completion of 'The remains of water'. There is also one in 'The survival dungeon', which can only be accessed every 10 stages after the boss battle (up to stage 50).
Aira and the man having a picnic will deal their wares with the local currency, pix. As for the fisherman, he only deals in fish and offers items that you can't buy with money.
The shop in The survival dungeon is unique, in that you can buy food to restore HP instantly. Note however, that you should not spend too much money trying to get through The survival dungeon, or you may miss your chance to buy the best type of item for a particular cause.
It should be noted that items that can be purchased from the stores will double in price when bought. Therefore, you should spend wisely. Items that you have can be sold for half of the original price, but this value will decrease as you sell more. There is no balance such that you can sell an equal number of a given item as you buy and expect the buy price to drop. The buy and sell prices are completely separate entities.
Also, take note that a fair number of the items that appear in the shops can be obtained for free in the form of secret treasures. Secret treasures can only be obtained once, so don't bother trying to get another by following the steps to get to the secret treasure as you'll only get Grateful statues after you obtain the secret treasure for the first time. Extra treasures can only be obtained once and will not re-close for more treasure.
In some cases, you may be able to find better equipment in the form of secret treasures than what you can obtain from stores. Keep this in mind. The only things you really need to spend money on are Fuelmin potions and at least one of the elemental crystals to make your life easier.
The fisherman will take a lot of time to obtain anything from. It would be wise to wait until late in the game, when you get better rods, before spending hours fishing.
